Mark D. Hofstee

PRACTICE DESCRIPTION AND EXPERIENCE

Estate Planning/Probate Administration.  Mark has extensive experience working with individuals and families in the area of estate planning.  His philosophy is that you are never too young or too old to define your legacy and begin planning for future generations.  In addition to planning, Mark also specializes in estate administration.  He represents clients as personal representatives of probate estates and advises trustees in the administration of trusts.   

General Business.  Mark has been involved in the organization and establishment of numerous businesses throughout the state of Michigan.  From the small, closely held family business to the multi-level corporation, Mark counsels his business clients on changes in the law and advises them on their ongoing operations.  In addition to the role of advisor, he also represents clients in buying and selling businesses, mergers and restructuring.

Real Estate Transactions.  Mark assists clients with all types of real estate transactions.  Whether it is a simple land contract of a vacant home or a purchase of a commercial building with several tenants, he works diligently to make sure that all aspects of the sale are complete and accurate from the preparation of an offer to purchase through the closing of the sale.

Collections.  Mark has a very broad and extensive collections practice.  He represents several lending institutions, banks and credit unions with their delinquent accounts and also provides practical and affordable solutions to businesses regarding managing accounts receivables.  He is one of only a few attorneys in the west Michigan area who specializes in mortgage foreclosures.  Mark utilizes various tools for collection including garnishments, writs of execution, levies and liens.

COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES

Mark is a member of the Grandville/Jenison Chamber of Commerce and is active in its Leads Group.  He is a frequent speaker for Grandville Senior Neighbors.  He and his wife, Alissa, and their two children live in Grandville.  When he is not working, Mark enjoys spending time with his family, traveling and playing golf.
