PRACTICE DESCRIPTION AND EXPERIENCE

Civil Litigation. Stephanie has developed a reputation for negotiating creative resolutions for her clients in the area of civil litigation.  She has achieved success through both mediations and trials.  Representative cases include commercial contracts, personal injury, employment issues and business disputes. 

Criminal Defense. Stephanie handles a wide variety of criminal matters including domestic violence, drunk driving, larceny, retail fraud, embezzlement, and criminal sexual conduct. She has successfully defended clients in both federal and state courts.

Family Law. In the area of family law, Stephanie represents clients regarding divorce, contested custody, parenting time disputes, child support review, spousal support, fair and equitable division of the marital estate, grandparent visitation, adoption, paternity, and conservatorships/guardianships. She is a compassionate and dedicated advocate for clients.

ARTICLES and LECTURES

Stephanie is a highly sought after speaker in schools throughout West Michigan on the topic of the legal consequences of sexting for minors. Stephanie has also co-presented at area seminars for teachers, parents, and church leaders on this topic and she has been featured on Fox 17 News, in The Holland Sentinel and in the School Communicator’s Network.

AWARDS

Stephanie received the Jurisprudence Award for Domestic Violence Law while in law school – a recognition that she performed at the top of her class in this area of the law.

COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES

Stephanie serves on the Board of Directors of the Grandville-Jenison Chamber of Commerce.  She also enjoys helping out with activities at Jenison High School.
